The founder of Rose Cottage Hotel Sdn. Bhd. is Dato’ Dr. Ker Ching Sheng who stayed in America for 9 years in the 80's. Dato’ Dr. Ker has a medical qualification in B.A. (HONS) (U.S.A.), M.D. (U.S.A.) and M.B.A (U.K.). Datin Ker (Madam Lee Fei Fung) was educated in England for 6 years during which she attained her law qualifications LLB (HONS) London, and Barrister-at-law (Lincoln's Inn).
How it started
After returning to Malaysia, the couple transferred their love for Western country cottages into budget hotels that they designed and built. In order to emulate the cottages of the west, the couple designed their budget hotels with the country-like style with warm, homely settings and a touch of class.
The first Rose Cottage Hotel outlet was established in 1997, in the housing estate of Taman Johor Jaya, Johor Bahru. Born out of a vision to give new definitions and standards in the budget hotel industry of Malaysia, Rose Cottage Hotel is committed to provide a clean, comfortable, and pleasurable staying experience to its guests.
As a result of their hard work, nine hotel outlets flourished one after another. Today, our hotel company has developed into a chain of budget hotels with our own exclusive brand name. Our nine budget hotels are located in different strategic parts of the Johor Bahru township. Chronologically, Rose Cottage Hotels were established at Taman Johor Jaya, Taman Universiti, Taman Nusa Damai (sold in January 2011), Taman Nusa Bestari 2, Taman Daya, Taman Perling, Bandar Seri Alam, Taman Impian Senai and Taman Nusa Jaya. Our ninth hotel located in Taman Mutiara Mas was opened in August 2013.
Over the years, our hotel staffs were constantly upgraded in the training courses organized by the Malaysia Budget Hotel Association (MBHA), where Datin Ker is an office bearer for the Johor Chapter of the Association. In the year 2006, our budget hotel was awarded a one - star classification by the Malaysian Ministry of Tourism. These awards helped to boost our image in the hotel industry.
Undoubtedly, the success of an organization does not depend on the effort of one individual, but on a team of workforce. Likewise, throughout the past 17 years, Rose Cottage Hotel was fortunate to have a good team of workers who worked towards a common goal. We are thankful to our employees, past and present, who have contributed to the establishment and success of our organization. They stayed with us through thick and thin, especially through times of troubles and crisis. Their dedication, perseverance, and diligence had enabled our company to attain greater heights and further horizons.
Apart from the aforesaid, our success also lies in our ability to provide a safe, secure, uncomplicated, peaceful and pleasant environment for our hotel guests. Much effort had been put into avoiding vice activities in our hotels. We are also cautious in our selection of guests.
It is our company policy not to provide short-time service as such service could be frequently misused or abused by guests for undesired activities.
Every staff is significant in fulfilling his/her function to the betterment of the company. Everyone is treated as a valued member of the big family of Rose Cottage Hotel.
Rose Cottage Hotel is also akin to a tree; whereby occasional pruning and trimming are necessary in order to remain healthy and wholesome.
We are continually improving ourselves to meet the needs of our guests, and to keep abreast with the latest developments and trends of the hospitality industry, without losing our style and uniqueness.
